Put me on a Pedestal and Push me Off

Put me on a pedestal
and push me off.

Watch as i fall
through the heights,
crashing and splintering,
broken shards of my spirit scattering
to where they'll never be one again.

A sadistic smirk slants across your face
as you bask in the glory of
wrested power.

    1. How can you be so convinced that a man has inspired this poem?

  4. Sometimes power is not used in a benevolent way. It would be hard to be put on a pedestal by someone and then pushed off. I'd wonder why.

  5. Hope the speaker rejects pedestals in the future. Power be hers.

  7. After the pushing and the falling come all the never answered questions. Power is a game many play. Potent piece of writing.
